Blizzard launch streaming service which will allow players to stream to social media platform, Facebook.
The streaming service is part of a collaboration between Facebook and Blizzard.
It was launched as a part of a client update and is as simple to get started as the click of a button. All players will have to do is link their Facebook and Blizzard accounts through the Blizzard launcher. It should appear as a new button in the top right hand corner. The streaming service will then be available after the accounts are linked.
This comes after a Blizzard and Twitch had a fallout over certain aspects of the popular streaming site. Blizzard felt that Twitch weren’t doing enough to police its community. This came to light after a Hearthstone tournament which was streamed on Twitch. In the comments section during the stream there were Twitch users using racist and offensive language. Blizzard and Twitch were said to be working on a pilot program to help combat these problem but as of yet nothing else has come of it.
It’s hard to imagine a streaming service that could rival Twitch. If anyone has the capability though its Blizzard, one of the most successful and profitable gaming companies around. Them paired with Facebook, with a huge social media presence, might lead to a interesting rivalry.
Do you think Twitch can be rivalled now or are they already to well established to be knocked off the top spot? Let us know in the comments below.
