The Spire, the final wing of ‘One night in Karazhan’, has arrived.
The final week of Karazhan’s four week release is finally here. With it comes the release of the last wing, The Spire, and the rest of the cards. In this wing we finally reach the pinnacle of the tower and try to find Medivh.
Shade of Aran
The first boss is Shade of Aran. He is the spirit of Nielas Aran who was Medivh’s father. His hero power is ‘both players have +3 spell damage’. So make sure you bring s few spells along. He has some nasty secrets which deal 5 and 10 damage to your minions so be weary of that. For completing this battle you will earn yourself Medivh’s Valet and Spirit Claws;
At the top of the tower is where Medivh uses portals to teleport between lands. Netherspite is the dragon that helps him to control the portals. Netherspite’s ability is ‘Give your hero +3 attack this turn’. This battle plays out slightly different as there are two portals on your side of the field, one blue one red. Placing minions at the side of the red portal will give them windfury. Placing them by the blue portal means they can only take one damage at a time. Your reward for completing this fight is Netherspite Historian and Book Wyrm;
The end of our Karazhan journey has arrived and we finally reach the portals. Moroes attempts to find Medivh through a portal but ends up in the wrong place and lands you in a fight with Nazra Wildaxe. Nazra is an orc from what seems like the first war (in warcraft), her hero ability will summon a 3/2 orc fighter for 2 mana. After defeating Nazra you will go through another portal and this time find Medivh. However Prince Malchezaar will also be waiting. His hero ability cost 2 mana and summons a 6/6 abyssal. Medivh will equip you with Atiesh which will summon a minion for the same cost as a spell you cast. For completing this final fight you will recieve Malchezaar’s Imp and Ironforge Portal;
In the final wing of Karazhan you will receive the last of the class challenges. The last two are for Druid and Rogue and the cards rewarded are Moonglade Portal and Ethereal Peddler;
At the end of the main story you will receive the last of the cards. These are Prince Malchezaar, Medivh The Guardian and Violet Illusionist;
So that about wraps it up for our party in Karazhan. I certainly enjoyed this expansion. It brought a lot of new interesting cards forward and definitely new ways to play, chess being one. I guess time will tell how this will shape the meta but we have already seen a lot of new ideas coming through. We’ll see you at the tavern anyway adventurer !
